Hi, I’m Myrna
I experienced my first yoga class in 2012. I began training soon after, becoming certified to teach in 2013 by the National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association. Having led group fitness classes at the YMCA for several years, the shift to yoga was seamless. I’ve since taught Vinyasa (flow style) and senior chair yoga at YMCA as well as various workshops and special events in the Pittsburgh area. I am is also certified with the National Exercise Trainers Association as a personal trainer since 2017 and Silver Sneakers certified. Reach me at Yoganuvo@gmail.com
YogaNuvo was born when I became aware of a need for affordable and gentle physical fitness options in her community. Having studied strength training I began to fuse this discipline into my yoga classes and formed YogaNuvo with its signature flow. My goal is for each member to customize every pose to meet their own fitness level, to promote a positive, uplifting and sustainable experience and to have a balanced lifelong wellness plan. I also enjoy hiking, bicycling, fiber arts and painting. I’m a follower of Jesus and regularly volunteer at a faith-based non-profit, Bethany Community Ministries. I am blessed to serve as Program Manager for their Soul Fit Workouts program. Richard and I have been happily married for over 20 years.
My Approach
Everyone has different bodies, different experiences and different abilities. We approach yoga as a practice that YOU build for your own body. We encourage everyone to modify or amplify the poses as you see fit. We demonstrate different ways to the same end. You are in charge, I am just a guide. Have the confidence, even as a beginner, to conquer your fitness goals!
